     She refuses to take the blood thinner Warfarin. "What if I'm home alone and accidentally cut myself and bleed out," she questions. "Mom," I say, "you won't bleed out," I try and reassure her. But there's no convincing her. Even the fact that I, at one time, was on it for clots caused by my TPN feedings.
 
     The doctor said she'd "stroke out" if she doesn't. I say to her that I'm always with her so she'll be okay, just take the damn things. She loved my old doctor and he was great I remind her. He always practiced "First Do No Harm." People from all over would go to him. He was a specialist at a Big Ten university.
 
     That doesn't quite convince her even though he also worked wonders with my step dad. Nope, she doesn't budge. Exacerbated I turn to my sister who can reach my mother better than I at times and it seems to work. Of course she's never been ill and had to take drugs on a regular basis. Man....Breathe.
